The Living Centre

The Living Centre is a state-of-the-art facility dedicated to providing emotional, practical and physical support to women and men diagnosed with breast cancer, their families and carers.

At The Living Centre the focus of all our programs and activities is on wellness rather than illness, and our comprehensive range of programs and services includes many which are unique and not available elsewhere.  All of our services are provided free of charge.

At The Living Centre, we address the real needs of those living with breast cancer.  We provide evidence-based, best-practice support to people affected by breast cancer, their partners, families and carers.

Our professional staff and trained facilitators have significant expertise and experience delivering services designed to reduce the impact of breast cancer. Primarily, we offer unlimited one-on-one consultations with our Breast Care Nurse who provides professional and caring advice. Furthermore, we facilitate peer support groups to help clients gather information and build their own social networks.

We continuously refine, improve and expand our range of support services so they remain targeted and relevant. Many of our services are unique to Think Pink.

The Living Centre has proudly supported thousands of breast cancer patients and their families through its unique and innovative program of activities and services.

Our Innovative approach

Think Pink is committed to making a positive impact in the lives of those affected by breast cancer.

We use proven evidence-based information and client feedback to determine our methodology and services. Evidence shows that psycho-educational interventions to be the most beneficial for cancer survivors. They deliver health education, resulting in the enhancement of problem solving and coping skills, stress management techniques and psychological support.

Small, facilitated support groups which we deliver at the Living Centre and online, encourage peer support and the use of specific communication techniques and language, resulting in positive behaviour changes and health outcomes in participants.

Several theories of health behaviour change have highlighted these important benefits:

  • self-efficacy
  • social support
  • decision processes
  • perceived relevance or vulnerability

Additionally, exercise is a safe and effective intervention that counteracts many of the adverse physical and psychological effects of breast cancer. With the result that our breast cancer clients are knowledgeable, empowered and in control of their journey.
